On 6 August, the mini-edition of the Innovation Jam Programme was held at the DX Design Hub of the Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC). Co-developed and co-facilitated by InnoEdge Consulting and DX Design Hub, the program brought together 20 participants from the business, education, social and public sectors. The session was designed as an immersive experience to demonstrate the speed, precision and strategic value of AI Agents within AI Design Thinking (DT3.0) for advanced problem-solving and impactful storytelling.
The programme opened with a keynote by Mr. Wallace Lam, Strategic Development, Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC). Mr. Lam introduced the mission of the DX Design Hub, illustrating how its portfolio of design services supports diverse sectors across Hong Kong. He also articulated the unique positioning of the Innovation Jam Programme as a platform for accelerating innovation through design and technology.
In the second segment, Mr. David Chung, Founder of InnoEdge Consulting, outlined the evolution of Design Thinking from DT1.0 to DT3.0, highlighting how AI-empowered Design Thinking is operationalized through a suite of 150 AI Agents. He presented a Hong Kong case example demonstrating how AI Design Thinking (DT3.0) can compress an innovation project timeline by up to 20 times—reducing a 26-week process to just one week. Mr. Chung further explained how AI-driven design research can capture more than 7,000 users’ opinions, including emotional nuances, within minutes.
The third segment showcased a live demonstration. Using real data collected from one of the participants, the facilitators conducted real-time analysis to derive needs assessment and personalized development pathways, leveraging different categories of AI Agents within the AI Design Thinking framework.
In the fourth segment, participants applied AI Design Thinking to the real user data, using identified pain points as the foundation for ideation. Through a human–AI co-creation process that combined human insight with AI Agents, they generated a range of innovative concepts. Participants then transformed the resulting insights into compelling narratives, producing both a 2D story format and a 15-second video to illustrate impactful storytelling with AI.
Participants responded enthusiastically to the speed, scalability and quality of outcomes enabled by the AI Agents. The mini-edition of the Innovation Jam Programme effectively demonstrated how AI Design Thinking (DT3.0) can empower organizations to accelerate innovation, deepen customer understanding and elevate strategic storytelling.
