The 2nd Intake mini-edition of the Innovation Jam Programme was held on 27 August at the DX Design Hub of the Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC). Co-facilitated by InnoEdge Consulting and DX Design Hub, the programme brought together 20 participants from the business, university, vocational education and social service sectors. The session was designed as an immersive experience to demonstrate the speed, precision and strategic value of AI Agents within AI Design Thinking (DT3.0) for advanced problem-solving and impactful storytelling.

The programme opened with a keynote by Mr. Wallace Lam, Strategic Development, Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC). Mr. Lam introduced the mission of the DX Design Hub, illustrating how its portfolio of design services supports diverse sectors across Hong Kong.

In the second part, Mr. David Chung, Founder of InnoEdge Consulting, detailed how AI‑empowered Design Thinking is operationalized through a set of 150 AI agents. He presented global, China and Hong Kong examples demonstrating how AI Design Thinking (DT3.0) can compress an innovation timeline by up to 20 times, reducing a 26‑week process to just one week. Mr. Chung further explained how to synergize human insight and wisdom with AI technologies to enable highly effective innovation management.

The third part featured a live demonstration. Using real data collected from one of the participants, the facilitators conducted real-time analysis to identify key needs and developed a persona with AI Agents, after which participants used the data to further analyse the multidimensional user demands collaboratively.

In the fourth part, participants leveraged AI Agents to work with real user data, using defined pain points as the springboard for ideation. Through a human–AI collaboration process that integrated human judgement with AI Agents, they generated a spectrum of innovative concepts. Participants then converted these insights into persuasive narratives, developing both a 2D story artefact and a 15-second video to demonstrate impactful storytelling with AI.

In the final segment, participants shared their key takeaways from the workshop and how they would apply these insights in their work to address diverse organizational challenges. After the workshop, Mr. Wallace Lam led a guided tour of HKDC’s exhibition halls, showcasing additional successful Hong Kong design stories to the participants.
