Event Overview and Purpose
The China Hong Kong Culture Exchange Association successfully organized the event “Community Shaper to Foster Youth’s Dispositions in Innovation and Technology Development 2025” (funded by the Innovation and Technology Fund General Support Programme from the Innovation and Technology Commission) on October 4, 2025, at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). The event aimed to empower university students to become future community innovators, equipped with the creativity and technological mindset needed to drive sustainable social change.
Expert Collaboration to Enhance Practical Learning
For enhancing the practicality of the event, two distinguished Design Thinking experts from InnoEdge Education, Mr. David Chung (Founder of InnoEdge Education) and Ms. Tiffany Liu (Principal of InnoEdge Education), were specially invited to conduct a half-day experiential learning session titled “AI-Driven Design Thinking for ESG Innovation.”
Introducing AI in Design Thinking
During the session, participants were introduced to the AI-powered Design Thinking framework and learned how to apply AI tools, such as AI Agents (Shown below), to enhance creativity, problem-solving, and sustainability-driven innovation.
Hands-on Innovation in Action
Mr. Chung and Ms. Liu led students through a series of hands-on exercises in the InnoEdge Innovation Spaces (Shown below), where they collaborated in small teams to co-create actionable project plans addressing real-world Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) challenges.
Empowering Students with Future-Ready Skills
The interactive workshop not only deepened students’ understanding of ESG innovation but also strengthened their practical design thinking and AI application skills. By the end of the event, each team presented a forward-looking initiative that demonstrated their ability to leverage AI and human-centered design to make a positive societal impact.
