AI‑Empowered Design Thinking for Future‑Ready Leaders
We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the two-day Design Thinking Deep Dive – Design Thinking with Systems Thinking for Distinctive Value Creation Certificate Course, hosted by Designthinkers Academy Hong Kong (DTA HK) on 13–14 March 2026 in Hong Kong. This workshop represents a signature milestone in equipping leaders with AI-enabled, human-centred innovation capabilities.

Participants gained hands-on experience collaborating with over 10 specialised AI Design Thinking Agents, categorised into 6 stages (shown below), as integral members of their innovation teams, co-creating outcomes in real time. The course was expertly facilitated by Mr. David Chung, the Dean of Designthinkers Academy China, who led participants through an intensive, practice-driven journey designed to translate these methodologies into tangible business impact.

Integration of AI Agents of Design Thinking
For the first time, we strategically deployed over 12 AI-powered Design Thinking agents, selected from a curated portfolio of 150 specialised AI agents (shown below), to support participants during the business innovation simulation exercises. These agents acted as real-time co-creators and strategic thought partners, enabling participants to analyse complex business challenges more quickly and precisely and to generate deeper, data-informed, human-centred insights.

By embedding this AI capability into the learning experience, we significantly elevated the quality of problem-solving and innovation outcomes. The result is a demonstrable step change in both decision quality and execution velocity, showcasing how AI-augmented Design Thinking can empower senior leaders and their organisations to respond more effectively to complex, rapidly evolving business environments (Please watch the video below for details).
Introduction of Systems Thinking Tools
This enhancement enabled participants to approach challenges not only more creatively but also more holistically, with a clear view of long-term implications and stakeholder impact. Their perspective was intentionally widened beyond individual users to include broader social dynamics, critical interdependencies, and the wider ecosystems in which their organisations operate.

Participants applied tools such as the STEEP framework (Social, Technological, Economic, Environmental, Political) to rigorously interrogate their business challenges, identify positive and negative influence factors, and anticipate second- and third-order effects. They were required to design solutions that not only deliver value for end users, but also contribute positively to society and the broader ecosystem—ensuring that innovation outcomes are both strategically sound and responsibly sustainable.
Cross-Sector Innovation Playbooks for Impact at Scale
To anchor the workshop in real-world impact, participants worked with sector-based case studies from community development, aviation, banking, and healthcare, across both local and global contexts. These cases showed how leading organisations use Design Thinking to reinvent products & services and unlock new value pools. By analysing concrete successes and failures, participants identified repeatable patterns, critical levers for change, and practical guardrails for responsible innovation.

Through focused debriefs and peer dialogue, participants rapidly translated these insights into their own leadership and organisational challenges. They mapped lessons learned to current initiatives, reframed stubborn problems as design opportunities, and selected tools they could deploy immediately with their teams. This cross-sector lens ensured Design Thinking moved beyond theory—equipping leaders to activate AI-empowered, human-centred innovation in their daily work and to drive meaningful, sustainable outcomes at scale.
