Overview | Learning Journey | AI Tools | Skill Assessment | Participant Feedback | Conclusion
Part 1: Overview
We are delighted to announce the successful completion of the first class of the DesignThinkers Academy (DTA) AI-Enhanced Design Thinking for Life Design in Life & Career Transition Course (2-Day), completed on 5 April 2025 in Hong Kong.
The program was co-developed by DAVID Chung Tai-Wai (Dean of DTA China), Tiffany Liu (Program Lead of DTA China), and Paul Lee (Program Lead of DTA China). David Chung conducted the workshop, leading participants through a transformative journey of self-discovery, creativity, and purposeful action.
Part 2: Learning Journey
During the workshop, participants engaged in a structured and thought-provoking journey, which included:
- Revisiting their past life and career journal, reflecting on key personal and professional milestone
- Understanding the barriers to life enhancement, identifying challenges and areas for growth.
- Defining their flow experiences, uncovering moments of deep purpose and engagement.
- Co-creative ideation for a creative pathway, exploring new possibilities and directions.
- Developing a concrete action plan, turning ideas into actionable steps to craft a meaningful future.
Part 3: AI Tools in Action
To enhance the creativity and problem-solving process, we integrated cutting-edge AI tools throughout the workshop, including:
- GPT for ideation, brainstorming, and insights generation.
- DALL-E for visualizing creative concepts and generating inspiring imagery.
- Stormz for collaborative and co-creative ideation sessions.
- Perplexity for research and exploring new perspectives.
These tools enabled participants to unlock new levels of creativity and explore innovative pathways for their mid-life transitions.
Part 4: Life & Career Transition Skill Assessment
Participants underwent a 360-degree skill assessment based on Design Thinking principles, evaluating their abilities across 10 core competencies essential for life and career planning. These included skills such as embracing uncertainty and risk, self-empathy, creative problem-solving, and decision-making with limited information. The assessment used a 5-point scale, combining self-evaluations and peer feedback to provide a balanced perspective on strengths and areas for improvement.
Results were visualized using bar charts to compare individual and peer evaluations and radar charts to illustrate the overall distribution of competencies. This process enabled participants to identify key areas for growth and develop actionable strategies to enhance their skills, supporting their journey toward meaningful and successful life transitions.
