Given that the Hong Kong learning environment and atmosphere have undergone many changes in the post-epidemic era.  Both InnoEdge and DFCHK see a desperate need to address and rebuild the connection between students and school.

Design for Change (DFC) is the most significant global movement of change by and for young children to teens, 2 million children have already participated. InnoEdge and DFCHK would drive and localize this human-centric and innovative approach in Hong Kong in 2023.

We are proud to mention that the Education Team of InnoEdge Social Caring & Sustainability Unit, Ms Flora Chan, Ms Tiffany Liu, Ms Yvonne Chan, and Mr Simon Lee, together with Mr Jeffrey Ip Man Him, the Co-founder  & Director of the Design For Change (DFC) Hong Kong, have successfully accomplished our first joint education exchange session on 26 November 2022.

The session was fruitful that two overseas speakers, Ms Kiran Bir Sethi, the global founder of DFC, and Ms Wednas Tou, founder of DFC Macau, shared some unforgettable “I CAN” stories of the children who proactively took ownership to improve their hometown persistently and insights after joining the DFC, one of the most significant global movements of change – by and for children.

We feel blessed that all our invited educators have shown up to this Education Exchange session to share their vision and painful experiences in running schools for young children, be it kindergarten, primary or secondary schools.  From this, we learnt about the challenges and the current state of the students amid COVID-19.

This vital event embarks on the design thinking education journey of the InnoEdge Social Caring & Sustainability unit and DFC Hong Kong to a broad scope, from young adults to young kids.

We look forward to meeting more like-minded educators to co-create a student-centric innovative educational environment and mindset in Hong Kong.
