Part 1: Unique Course Objective

Fusing Design Thinking and Data Science to Develop Extraordinary Digital Customer Experience

The breakthroughs often come when leaders connect seemingly disparate innovation or transformation processes. Diversity of perspective has been shown repeatedly to develop fresh eyes and minds to solve challenging problems. While many enterprises invest in Design Thinking (DT) and Data Science (DS) capabilities, only those that tightly weave these disciplines together will unlock their full potential.

Data-Driven Human-Centered Design (DHCD) allows you to create a complete view by mixing qualitative thinking (which is related to Design Thinking) and quantitative review (which uses Data Science); the qualitative approach gains first-rate quantitative data, and quantitative analysis can improve qualitative insights for developing the excellent customer experience.

The class will start on 30 April (Sat), 2022 [Details] and the Five Major Benefits to the Learners from this Course are:

Part 2: Project-based Learning Approach

Project-based Learning (PBL) approach will allow you to apply your learning to your own personal or business context. The PBL will take you on a step-by-step journey in which you will identify a non-trivial yet manageable innovation opportunity, which can serve as a realistic platform to put into practice the key concepts acquired in this course. Even though the PBL is a personalized experience, you will not do it alone. The course leader will guide you and give you feedback during three 40-min individual coaching sessions (at 3, 6, and 8). The 2 discussion focuses of your coaching session is as below:

Session 3

(1) The quantitative pain points and expectations of your market

(2) The strengths and weaknesses of your current customer journey

Session 6

(1) The new ideas for enhancing the digital experience for your targeted segment

(2) The measurement methods for evaluating your new solutions

Session 8

(1) Building your Data-Driven and Human-Centered Team

(2) Planning your project of New Digital Customer Journey for your targeted segments

In addition, for those attending the course with a group of colleagues from the same organization, we can help you structure a more ambitious team to collaborate and work on together.

There are three phases to the PBL process: First, you will agree on a theme or challenge with your coach to make sure it aligns with the learning objectives of this course and culminates in a concrete end goal. Second, in each of the training modules, you will apply the tools and concepts from that module to your own personal or business context. Third, at the end of your learning journey (Session 8), you will synthesize the insights from your real-world practices to design a concrete action plan for your next project.

Part 3: Four-Week Learning and Coaching Journey

With 5 training workshops and 3 one-on-one coaching sessions, you will gain practical techniques to apply Design Thinking (DT) and Data Science to your actual working projects. The course design is based on the four stages of the Design Thinking Double Diamond model: Discover, Define, Develop and Deliver.
