[01] Webinar Overview and Strategic Context
The webinar titled “How Can Your Organization Overcome Innovation Challenges and Accelerate Transformation?”, co‑hosted by SGS and InnoEdge Consulting, was held on 9 September 2026. The speakers were Mr. Colin Shek, Project Manager, Business Assurance, SGS Hong Kong Limited, and Mr. David Chung, Managing Partner, InnoEdge Consulting.
The session examined the key challenges organizations face in innovation management and digital transformation, and how the ISO 56001 Innovation Management System can help reduce uncertainty, strengthen innovation governance, and establish a structured, repeatable approach to innovation. The speakers also shared practical insights on integrating AI-Empowered Design Thinking into the innovation management system to enhance stakeholder engagement and relevance.
In addition, the webinar demonstrated how AI Agents for ISO 56001 can support leadership and management teams in operating, monitoring, and continuously improving their innovation management system more efficiently.

[02] ISO 56001:2024 – Framework and Business Value
In the first part of the webinar, Mr. Colin Shek introduced the strategic value of ISO 56001:2024 for enterprises. He outlined the framework and key clauses of the standard, highlighted the importance of a clear innovation intent, and explained the overall clause structure of ISO 56001:2024.
He also articulated the tangible benefits that a well‑implemented innovation management system can bring to organizations, including improved alignment, reduced risk, and more consistent innovation outcomes. Below are the major slides of part 1 of the webinar:
[03] Integrating AI Design Thinking and AI Agents into ISO 56001
In the second part of the webinar, Mr. David Chung drew explicit linkages between the clauses of ISO 56001 and the Design Thinking methodology. He demonstrated how ISO 56001 and the 6D Design Thinking Model share a common operational spine expressed in two different “languages”, with particular emphasis on Clause 8 (Operation). He further highlighted how Design Thinking adds a strong human‑centred dimension to the ISO 56001 system, ensuring that innovation initiatives remain grounded in real stakeholder needs.
Finally, he illustrated—through international case studies and local project examples—how even SMEs can successfully adopt ISO 56001 with support from AI Agents, making innovation management more accessible, scalable, and effective. Below are the major slides of part 2 of the webinar:
[04] Building a Systematic, Human‑Centred Innovation Engine
Together, the webinar underscored that innovation is no longer a matter of isolated initiatives, but of disciplined systems, human‑centred practices, and smart use of AI. By combining ISO 56001, Design Thinking, and AI Agents, organizations of all sizes can move beyond ad hoc ideas to build a robust, repeatable innovation engine—one that aligns with strategy, engages stakeholders, manages risk, and accelerates sustainable transformation.
[05] Call for Action: Leveraging AI Agents to Accelerate the Human-Centered Innovation of Design Thinking x ISO 56001
SGS and InnoEdge will co‑host a 4‑hour, action‑oriented workshop, “Leveraging AI Agents to Accelerate the Human‑Centered Innovation of Design Thinking x ISO 56001,” on 23 October 2026. During the workshop, the participants will collaborate with the AI Agents to execute the integrated “Design Thinking x ISO 56001” innovation process—from AI‑enabled design research to opportunity identification, and from concept creation to concept validation.

In addition, the session will demonstrate how AI Agents can support the development of innovation objectives and planning, as well as the design of practical, actionable solutions. For details, please click here or the picture below.
