Additionally, since relationships deeply influence life design, the tool incorporates major stakeholders—family, friends, mentors, and work partners—who play influential roles in your journey. This holistic approach ensures that your life design is both human-centered and deeply personal.


Part 2: WHY IT MATTERS

The Personal Life Journey Map is essential for:

  • Defining Turning Points: It helps you uncover the critical moments in your life where change or growth occurred, providing clarity about what led to those shifts.
  • Highlighting Purpose and Values: It allows you to explore the core purpose and values that shaped each stage of your life, ensuring your life design remains meaningful and aligned with what truly matters.

The Personal Life Journey Map is a foundational tool for life design that focuses on your turning points, purpose and values, and the stakeholders who shaped your journey. By reflecting on the key stages of your life and the relationships that supported your growth, you gain a deeper understanding of your personal story. This introspective process helps you define your present with clarity and intention, paving the way for a meaningful and purpose-driven life.


Part 3: HOW IT WORKS

Step 1: Create a Timeline Based on Life Stages

  • Draw a timeline to represent your life’s journey. Divide it into stages, each defined by a purpose or value that was central during that time.
  • For example:
    • A stage of learning and discovery (Value: Curiosity)
    • A stage of building relationships (Value: Connection and Love)
    • A stage of overcoming challenges (Value: Resilience)

Step 2: Identify Turning Points

  • Reflect on moments of significant change or realization—your turning points. These could include decisions, challenges, or events that led to growth or a new purpose. Note the emotions and needs to be tied to these moments and the purpose or value that emerged.

Step 3: Add Major Stakeholders:

  • For each stage, identify the key people who influenced or supported you, such as family, close friends, mentors, or work partners. Reflect on how these stakeholders impacted your decisions, provided support, or shaped your values during that stage.

Step 4: Explore Emotions and Needs:

  • For each stage and turning point, ask yourself:
    • Emotions: What were the emotional highs and lows?
    • Needs: What needs were met or unmet, and how did they influence your turning points?

Step 5: Define Gaps for Each Stage:

  • Reflect on each stage of your life and identify any gaps between your:
    • Values and Actions: Were your actions aligned with what you valued most at the time?
    • Needs and Support: Were your emotional or practical needs fully supported by your stakeholders or circumstances?
    • Purpose and Outcomes: Did the stage fulfill its intended purpose, or did something feel incomplete?
  • These gaps will help you uncover areas for growth and highlight turning points that may have been influenced by unmet alignment.
